SKFH acquired United-Credit Commercial Bank in 2004 and Macoto Bank in 2005 to create a comprehensive banking platform. The two banks merged at the end of 2005 to form Taiwan Shin Kong Commercial Bank (SKB). Today, SKB has a network of 105 branches across Taiwan.
SKB is committed to steadily enhancing its competitive position and performance through prudent and solid management. The bank provides deposit, loan, foreign exchange, and credit card services. It is also venturing into new markets through investments in insurance agency businesses and establishment of a branch in Hong Kong to provide offshore financial services to businesses and individuals in the cross-strait area.
SKB distinguished itself among numerous candidates to win Global Views Magazine’s 2008 Outstanding Service Award in the finance and banking category. Its wealth management business obtained "ISO 9001:2000" quality certification and its e-banking business won two payment-related awards from the Bankers Association. In 2009, SKB was honored as the "Top issuer" of Visa Infinite Cards and named the "Model financial institution against fraud" by the FSC.
Looking ahead, SKB will continue a balanced strategy towards consumer and corporate banking, aggressively develop corporate banking and foreign exchange business, establish overseas operating units, and expand cross-marketing opportunities with other SKFH subsidiaries to offer customers the most comprehensive banking services.
