(TAIPEI) SKFH's 2009 GDR was awarded the Taiwan Capital Markets Deal of the Year by the International Financing Review Asia (IFR Asia) magazine. IFR Asia held an award banquet at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Hong Kong in the evening of February 10, 2010. SKFH’s Chief Financial Officer, Winston Yung, attended the event and received the award on behalf of the Company.

IFR Asia is a member of the Thomson Reuters group. Focusing on stock and bond market news coverage, the magazine has developed a reputation for its highly professional reporting. Each year it carefully evaluates new financial product issuances and securities underwriters in Asian capital markets. The 2009 award underscores the GDR’s performance in several in several dimensions, including pricing and conditions, investor mix, and effect on capital strengthening.

SKFH's 2009 GDR was the largest equity offering in Taiwan since 2005. It was also the first GDR issuance by a financial institution in Taiwan since 2004. The GDR successfully raised US$375 million and was oversubscribed by 25% despite the ongoing financial tsunami at the time. This reflected investors’ confidence that SKFH's capital will be sufficiently strengthened after the issuance and expectations that the Company's financial and operational performance will continue to improve. The GDR was subscribed by a well-diversified investor base, including long-term Asian and American institutional investors, sovereign funds and hedge funds.

SKFH has performed excellently and earned wide acclaim for its capital planning and management. The Company will continue to work hard to maximize value for shareholders.
